SCAS is an education charity working to support and promote the health and social benefits of interactions between people and companion animals.

This year our intensive training course takes place over four days and includes a practical element with a visit to a working animal-assisted therapy centre. This is an excellent opportunity for you to experience animals in a therapeutic setting. Early-bird discount available.

Whether you have a personal or professional interest in the human-companion animal bond, members can access a wealth of information and expertise through their membership of SCAS.

SCAS offers training and events in Animal-Assisted Interventions, Pet Bereavement Support and Practical Training for Therapy Dogs

We're working hard to ensure that UK housing providers implement responsible pet policies that enable older people to make an informed choice about their future, and that of their companion animal.

The Pet Bereavement Support Service (PBSS), jointly run by SCAS and The Blue Cross is there to offer support to anyone suffering from the loss of a pet. All calls and emails are confidential and the service is free of charge.

The Winter 2011 SCAS Journal is now available to view online, along with archive issues, in our members' area. Full details of all our publications can be found here.
