The bond at risk

There are a number of circumstances which can arise that may lead to a breakdown in the relationship between people and their companion animals. The reasons for these are complex and further understanding and research is required. 

Through its membership and links with other organisations, SCAS is working to raise awareness of some of these issues and thereby help to:

• protect the bond between people and pets where it is vulnerable and at-risk
• address some of the animal welfare issues that may arise as the result of human-animal bonds that are distorted
