SCAS is one of seven founder members of IAHAIO (International Association of Human-Animal Interaction Organisations) which was set up in 1990. IAHAIO sponsors international conferences, monitors and co-ordinates research programmes and grants awards for outstanding projects. IAHAIO is now recognised as a working partner of the World Health Organisation.Through IAHAIO, SCAS is able to access research and activities on the human-companion animal bond internationally.
