Training for veterinary profession in human-companion animal bond

In addition to the Open College accredited training course on pet bereavement that is offered to veterinary staff, SCAS also delivers lectures and workshops to the veterinary profession on the human-companion animal bond.

In 2006 SCAS delivered lectures to undergraduate veterinary students at:

  • Association of Veterinary Students conference, London (event organised by Hills Pet Nutrition)
  • Bristol Veterinary School (event organised by Intervet)
  • Royal Veterinary College (event organised by Intervet)
  • University of Liverpool (event organised by Intervet)
  • Edinburgh veterinary school (event organised by Hills Pet Nutrition)
  • Glasgow veterinary school (event organised by Hills Pet Nutrition)

SCAS is keen to extend these lectures to other health and social professions, such as mental health workers, social workers, GPs, psychologists.

If you would like SCAS to deliver a lecture or workshop on the human-companion animal bond to members or students of your organisation or learning institution, please the SCAS director to discuss your requirements.
