The SCAS Journal was first published in 1998 and is now in its 19th year of publication. It is published four times a year by the Society for Companion Animal Studies and contains a record of happenings and events within human-companion animal bond studies in the UK and internationally. The SCAS Journal is distributed to all SCAS members in the UK and overseas, as well as other individuals and organisations working in the veterinary, health and social care professions.
The Journal carries contributions from SCAS members and associates and tries to offer something of interest to every reader from those who are involved in academic research to pet owners who wish to know more about how and why we interact with companion animals.
All SCAS members receive a copy of the quarterly SCAS Journal. Members can also request a free, hard copy of any issue of the SCAS Journal published prior to Spring 2005.
The SCAS Journal is also available to purchase by non-SCAS members for £2.50 per issue. See publication order form.
SCAS welcomes all contributions and articles can be submitted at any time during the year. The current editor is Jo-Ann Fowler, SCAS director. See our guide to submissions to the SCAS Journal for further details on how to submit an article for publication, or contact the SCAS director.
