SCAS 2026 Funding Applications Under Review

The call for SCAS Funded-Research closed on 6 July 2026, after receiving a record number of applications for Pump Priming Awards and Student Projects.

We were also happy to receive several applications from researchers in the Global South. The quality of the applications all were phenomenal!

The SCAS Research Working Group (RWG) is finalising their evaluations and we hope to confirm offers before the annual SCAS conference (Sunday 18 October 2026). However, please bear with us if we are taking a bit longer than anticipated to contact applicants. The RWG has the difficult task of selecting which the many worthy projects to fund. These are tough decisions we have to make because unfortunately there are simply insufficient funds for all the projects we would ideally like to support.

The RWG is led by Dr. Kris Hill & Dr. Clare Thomas-Pino, and operates thanks to a dedicated group of volunteers who have been diligently reviewing the applications. We are immensely grateful to Prof. Sam Ahmedzai, Dr. Elizabeth Ormerod, Dr. Helen Winter, Dr. Jon Bowen, Prof. Brinda Jegatheesan, Dr. Roxanne Hawkins, Dr Helen Tedds, and Dr. Evangelos Diamantakos, for generously donating their time and expertise to help ensure SCAS continues to support high-quality research that aligns with our core aims.
