A Dog in School – How do we plan for that?
Speaking at a recent conference about the need to improve young people’s sense of wellbeing, Sir Anthony Seldon was quoted as saying ‘Every school should have a dog or another pet to reduce stress in the classroom’ and that it is ‘a powerfully cost-effective way of helping children feel more secure at schools’. The Jo Cox Commission on Loneliness
The Jo Cox Commission on Loneliness is an organisation that was set up following the murder of British MP Jo Cox. Launched in January 2017, the commission planned to find ways to combat loneliness in the United Kingdom.
As part of this campaign, the organisation put out a call for submissions and the Society of Companion Animal Studies (SCAS) responded. Our submission can be read below:
