HOW TO SET BIOS FILE IN A GO PSX EMULATOR

One of the major elements of an emulator is the Bios File. Many emulators require Bios to work efficiently while some few do not. PSX emulator was released in 2000 and it had three authors; Demo, Galtor and Calb. Its systems of operation include Android, Microsoft windows, macOS and Linux. Upon its release, PXS emulator attracted a massive revolution to gamers as it had additional features such as the ability to rectify deformed textures and the glittery in 3D. These features were not available in the other playstations by then. Other better playstations have been developed overtime, hence PSX can work best in the old PCs than in the modern computers provided that you change the plug-ins to a lower performance.

Setting up a BIOs file

In order to be able to set up a PSX BIOS, you need to download it fist in your PC.

The following is the procedure for downloading the PSX BIOs;

  • Right click on the link for download

Click save link as. Rename the file extension to ‘Zip’

Download’ SCPH1001.bin’ from any source.

Extract the BIOs file from its ZIP file.

Tow the ‘SCPH1001.bin’ to the PSX BIOs folder

  • Click PSX

Go to file then configuration.

  • Go to the BIOs tab. On the far right, there are three buttons (…). Click them then select ‘SCPH 1001. bin’ and click open.

  • After clicking open, you should close the PSX.

Installing the PSX BIOs.

Installing the PSX BIOs is easy and quick since no PC wizard is needed.

Remove PSX from its it’s Zip file

It is important to not that PSX must be located in one folder. Putting it on different folders will prevent it from storing any data on your PC.

Keyboard setup.

Click file then configuration to the Gamepad, then Port 1 then Pad 1.

Go to the controllers tab.

A table will be shown with many buttons. Click on the one that you want to set up. Press on the key that you want to convert it to.

The Same procedure should be followed for all the changes you want to make on the Keyboard keys. When you complete, click OK.

Loading a PSX game CD.

Using the legitimate PS1 games CD with PSX usually creates slow loading rates hence, not recommended. Instead, a CUE ISO is recommended for the same because it has high storage capacity.

The following steps are to be followed in order to load PS1 games with PSX.

  • Set the CDR-plugin. This can be achieved by just pressing Configuration then click Cdrom then the CDR-plugin.

  • Enter the CD of the game in your CD-ROM drive to enable you to load the game. In the PSX, select file and run the CDROM. The CD will definitely play after a few minutes.

In some occasions the CD may not play and a black screen will appear. There are ways to resolve such situations.

  • Overclocking CPU.

The black screen has been a problem in the latest PSX version. To resolve this, select Options.

Go to the CPU overclocking then click x1.

  • Use another Video Plug-in.

The plug-in may be the problem so change and use a different one.

  • Wait

The CD will not pick up immediately hence you need to be patient for a while, before it starts working. If it takes too long, then try the other methods to resolve the situation.

  • Full screen

  • Many players usually prefer playing games on full screen than the mini-screens. Unfortunately, ePSXe still does not have a shortcut for full screen. If you want to play your games on full screen, you need to do some settings in the video plug-in.

  • The procedure is as follows;

  • Restart your PSX if you were playing a game

  • Click configuration then Video

  • Go to the full screen mode at the upper left side of your PC.

  • The game will now play on full screen when you click OK.

  • Setting up your Memory Card.

For you to be able to manage your memory card settings, follow the procedure below;

  • Select file then click RUN BIOs

  • Select memory card. If your PSX opened the CD player, exit and go back to where you were initially at the main screen.

  • It will finally show you a screen on the memory card management.

The management screen will help you change the settings to your own fit, such that you will be able to efficiently copy, detect and move your savings.
