Unusual celebrity pets

Tom Hardy once "mimicked" the traditional red carpet by coming to the premiere of "Legend" with his dog named Woody. But no one is surprised by a dog today, so we decided to remember the most bizarre and exotic celebrity pets.

Reese Witherspoon's petting zoo.

Back in 2010, actress Reese Witherspoon was inspired by her friends' little private zoo and bought herself two pretty donkeys, whom she named Honky and Tonky. "They're so docile and cute," Witherspoon admitted in an interview in December of 2010. And all would be well if it weren't for the neighbors. They, unlike the blonde star, the donkeys were not happy and periodically complained about the constant noise. But the noise is only logical when you consider that Reese has a menagerie of two pigs, three goats, twenty chickens, three dogs and her own pony in addition to the donkeys at home. It is worth noting that the stars hide even more secrets that you can instant checkmate background checks

Dominique Monaghan's Hand Mantis

Exotic insects are practically a trend. For example, tarantulas are universally purchased for home aquariums. But mantises? The star of the series "Staying Alive" since 2012, the program "Dominic Monaghan and wild creatures" on Animal planet, so it is not surprising that he got along and pet mantis named Gizmo, and Wichita tarantula, and white snake Blink.

Cobras and Nicholas Cage's Octopus

Nicolas Cage does not spare money on entertainment. In the recent past, the actor almost went bankrupt, carried away by collecting expensive cars and real estate, which, however, did not stop the star. Having failed with inanimate objects, Cage switched to exotic animals. First in his house appeared two king cobras, and then the octopus.

All acquisitions cost the actor no less than $ 276 thousand. Cage later told reporters that the octopus appeared in his house for a good cause, the animal was supposed to mysteriously help the star cope with a role. Alas, pretty soon Nicholas was forced to say goodbye to his ocean companion - its content cost Cage more than all the cars put together.

Leonardo DiCaprio's turtle

It would seem that a turtle is quite an ordinary animal. Of course, if it fits in a small home aquarium or box. Hollywood actor, however, decided not to be so trivial. Visiting the American exhibition of professionals on reptile breeding, apparently, very much to his liking, so that DiCaprio immediately bought a turtle for $ 400, which weighs 17 pounds!

And this is not the limit, now this turtle is only 15 years old, and for the upcoming 70 years of his life, the favorite actor can gain about a hundredweight! It will not be easy for Leo, who, let's face it, is not getting any younger either.

Rupert Grint's Mini Pig

Rupert Grint, the red-haired Briton known to the world from the Harry Potter movies, seems to have completely succumbed to the allure of miniature piglets. Thanks to years of work by scientists on this breed, the piglets don't grow any bigger than a small dog. I guess they cost about $1,000 because of the labor invested in them, too? However, many celebrities today get themselves a minipig, not caring about the price, and then go out with them for walks and even attend social events (which, by the way, Rupert himself does).

George Clooney's pig.

Six years ago, the settled heartthrob had another great love before his wife. And unlike his colleague Rupert Grint, his pig was not so miniature. A 135-kilo pig named Max accompanied Clooney on the set, in interviews, and even at night while he slept (the actor allowed the pet to sleep in his bed).  Clooney has a special love for pigs. He prefers them to all other pets. Once upon a time, when Clooney was just beginning to conquer many girls' hearts, he, to impress his chosen one, gave her a piglet. The girl did not appreciate such a show of affection and ran away from a hapless suitor, and by the way, could become the wife of a future star. Since then, perhaps, Clooney has become more suspicious of the opposite sex and get married, it seemed, had second thoughts altogether. Once the actor even bet his girlfriends Nicole Kidman and Michelle Pfeiffer that he would not marry until at least forty years. Both actresses lost with a bang, and George instead of a wife made a real hog - a mini-pig, who lived with the star for several years in complete contentment and died at age 18 years.
